—Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti Celebrated at Central Prison KalaburagiKalaburagi: Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti was observed with devotion and reverence at the Central Prison in Kalaburagi. The event was organized within the prison premises to honor the legacy of the great sage, poet, and philosopher Maharshi Valmiki — regarded as the Adi Kavi (first poet) of Indian literature.The head of the institution, Dr. Anita R., offered floral tributes and performed puja to the portrait of Maharshi Valmiki. Addressing the gathering, she said, “On this auspicious occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti, we remember the Adi Kavi of our literary and spiritual tradition and his profound contributions. This day reminds us of the essence of Dharma (righteousness), Karma (duty), and Human Values. Through the Ramayana, Valmiki guided humanity toward truth, non-violence, justice, and moral living, emphasizing the power of sacrifice, brotherhood, and the law of Karma Phala (fruit of action). His life and penance continue to inspire courage and peace.”To mark the occasion, a Bhajan program was organized and performed by the inmates, creating a spiritual atmosphere inside the prison.The event was attended by Assistant Superintendent Shri Channappa, Jailors Smt. Sunanda, Shri Sagar Patil, Shri Srimantagouda Patil, and Shri Sham Bidri, along with clerical and executive staff members of the prison.The program was coordinated and compered by Shri Nagaraj Mulage, teacher at the institution.—
