drawing competition was held for the inmates of the Central Prison, Kalaburagi,

as part of the observation of the National Legal Services Authority Day 2025. The event was organized by the District Legal Services Authority, Kalaburagi, under the theme “Justice for All: Through the Lens of Legal Aid.”
The inmates were asked to create artistic expressions such as drawings, paintings, videos, or sketches that reflected the role of the Legal Services Authority in ensuring justice to the last person in society and among inmates under the purview of the law. The goal was to raise awareness and illustrate how support is provided by the Legal Services Authority. Accordingly, many inmates participated in the competition and expressed their interpretations through sketches on drawing sheets.
The artworks were reviewed by the head of the institution, Dr. Anita R., Assistant Superintendent Shri Channappa Yatagara, and the institution’s teacher Shri Nagaraj Mulage. Finally, the drawings by three inmates were selected: 1) Shri Vijay Mohan Singh, 2) Amrut, and 3) Satish. The selected artworks fully depicted how the inmates, by making good use of the facilities provided by the Prison and Correctional Services Department and the Legal Services Authority, can benefit and emerge as good individuals into their families and society after their release, illustrating the environment created by these departments.
Dr. Anita R., the head of the institution, wished the inmates well and expressed her hope that their drawings would be displayed at the National Legal Services Authority Day program to be held in New Delhi, and that they would be selected in the exhibition. Also present at the event were the institution’s Jailers, Smt. Sunanda V., Shri Sagar Patil, Shri Shrimantagowda Patil, and Chief Wardens Shri Mahesh Patil and Shri Bandappa.
