A suspected extramarital affair ended in tragedy when a young man was brutally murdered by his friend in Murudi village of Kamalapur taluk. The deceased, identified as Ambarish Gavanahalli (20), a resident of Melkunda village, was allegedly strangled with a wire by his close friend over suspicions of having an affair with the latter’s wife.According to police sources, Ambarish had previously been residing in Kalaburagi where he developed a strong friendship with Ajay Dhannure, an auto-rickshaw driver. During a brief stay at Ajay’s house, Ambarish is believed to have formed an illicit relationship with Ajay’s wife. Even after moving to Bengaluru for work, where he was employed as a food supplier in a PG, Ambarish reportedly maintained contact with her.Tensions escalated when Ajay’s wife, due to the alleged affair, left her husband and returned to her parental home. Ajay, blaming Ambarish for the breakdown of his marriage, urged him to intervene and convince his wife to reconcile.In an attempt to mediate, Ambarish travelled back to Murudi from Bengaluru. However, the situation worsened when Ajay’s wife refused to return and instead expressed her desire to marry Ambarish. Enraged by the turn of events, Ajay allegedly strangled Ambarish with a wire, killing him on the spot.The Narona Police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.This shocking episode has left the local community stunned, highlighting the devastating consequences of personal disputes spiraling out of control.—
