Sangappa Shetty Receives IMAX Big Cinema Award: National Recognition for Shetty CinemasThe prestigious “IMAX Big Cinema 2025 Award”, given to the best cinema theatres in India’s Tier-2 cities, has been conferred on Shetty Cinemas, Kalaburagi. The award was received by the theatre’s Managing Director Sangappa Shetty.At the award ceremony held in Chennai, Pritam Daniel, Vice President of IMAX (Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and other Southeast Asian countries), along with Raghav from Indian Theatre World, presented the honour to Sangappa Shetty (Managing Director) and Dhruv Badimi (Executive Director) of Shetty Cinemas. On this occasion, Amoolya Gutteydar Girija Shankar Shetty and Sujata Girija Shankar Shetty were also present.Speaking about the honour, Sangappa Shetty said:> “It is a moment of pride that Shetty Cinemas from Kalaburagi, in the Kalyana Karnataka region, has been chosen as the best theatre among India’s Tier-2 cities. I dedicate this award to the cinema lovers of Kalaburagi. It is because of their trust and preference for our theatre that we have been able to achieve such a prestigious recognition.”Shetty Cinemas is an international-standard theatre complex with 1,920 luxury seats across four screens, equipped with 4K digital projection. Its features include Dolby Atmos sound system, grand entrance, clean and aesthetic environment, attractive corridors, and a top-class F&B service, all of which have contributed to winning this recognition, said Sankalp Shetty.The award was officially handed over at Chennai by Pritam Daniel (IMAX South Vice President) and Raghav (Indian Theatre World).
