: Contract Workers Submit Memorandum to DC Seeking Job Security, Pending Wages
The Karnataka State Government Hostel and Residential School Contract Workers’ Association on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Kalaburagi, pressing for the immediate implementation of service security for contract workers employed in government hostels and residential schools.
The association urged the administration to adopt the Bidar model by establishing a cooperative society for contract employees and ensuring their rights are safeguarded. They also demanded the release of pending minimum wages, which they allege have been long overdue.
Leaders and members present during the submission included Bhimashetty Yampalli, Kashinath Bandi, Megharaj Katare, Parashuram Hadalgi, Kalyani Pujari, Nagarathna Madanakar, and Babu Hosamani.
