The Welfare Party has accused the Congress Party of completely failing to fulfill the promises made in its manifesto during the 2021 Kalaburagi Municipal Corporation elections, calling it a betrayal of public trust and a major setback to city development.According to the party, the Congress had sought votes by making several assurances before the 2021 elections, but most of those promises remain unfulfilled even after four years. This, the Welfare Party stated, has left citizens deeply disappointed and has stapled progress in key civic areas.Key promises and current status highlighted by the Welfare Party include:24/7 water supply to every household: Many homes still do not receive water on time.Installation of LED streetlights across all city roads: Most areas continue to have old lights, posing risks at night.100 RO plants: Largely unimplemented. One community hall per ward: Missing in most wards.New stadium and indoor sports complexes: No major work carried out.Libraries and reading rooms: Rarely visible.Repair of old buildings: Neglected.100% CCTV coverage for law and order, especially women’s safety: Not fully implemented.Multi-storey parking facilities: Not provided.IAS/KAS coaching centres for students: Not established.20,000 tree plantation drive: No visible environmental development.E-governance for quick issuance of birth/death and other certificates: Still problematic.Trade license renewal extension from 1 to 3 years: No clarity.Tourism development: No significant progress.Drainage and sewage expansion: Problems persist in many areas.Walking tracks, open gyms, children’s parks, senior citizen centres: Mostly absent.Single-window clearance system: Still remains just an announcement.Relocation of high-tension lines: Not implemented.Committee for development of burial grounds and crematoriums: No clear action taken.Technology-based waste collection and management: Services remain unsatisfactory.“Looking at all these unfulfilled promises, where is the moral responsibility of the Congress Party that sought votes based on this manifesto? These assurances have turned out to be nothing but a large-scale deception of the people,” the Welfare Party said.Demands of the Welfare PartyThe Welfare Party of Kalaburagi district has demanded:Immediate implementation of all the promises made in the manifesto.Strict monitoring to ensure public funds are not wasted.Fulfillment of earlier commitments before making new promises to citizens.“The Welfare Party will continue its struggle for pro-people governance, corruption-free administration, and comprehensive city development,” the press note concluded.Issued by:Mubeen Ahmed – State SecretarySaleem Ahmed Chitapuri – District President, Welfare Party, KalaburagiSaleem Sagri, Afzal Khan, Fahad MohsinReport by imran khan kalaburagi, karnataka
