A plea from the Jai Kannadiga Sene and Jai Kannadiga Rakshana Vedike, Kalaburagi, to the District CommissionerKALABURAGI: A plea was submitted to the District Commissioner on behalf of the Jai Kannadiga Sene and Jai Kannadiga Rakshana Vedike, Kalaburagi unit, regarding misconduct and dereliction of duty by the Deputy Commissioner, Smt. Pramila M.K. The complaint alleges that she is not listening to the public’s grievances related to irregularities in the loan sanctions under the Day-NULM scheme for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25.When representatives of the organizations went to meet Smt. Pramila M.K., the Deputy Commissioner at the Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike, on August 11, 2025, to inquire about the issue, she allegedly left her desk during working hours, saying, “Leave the file on the table, I will come and see it.” The complaint states that she performs her duties as she pleases, without listening to the problems brought to her. When they informed her that they would have to file a complaint with the Honorable District Commissioner, she reportedly threatened them, saying, “If you want, go and complain to the District Commissioner.” The organizations claim that she is neglecting her duties this way because she has no fear of her superiors. They had previously submitted a similar plea to the Honorable Commissioner of Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike regarding their issues, but it was not fruitful. Therefore, they have requested the immediate suspension of the said officer and the appointment of another honest and dedicated officer. The complaint also details irregularities in the auto-rickshaw loan sanctions under the Day-NULM scheme for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25 in the Kalaburagi Mahanagara Palike. Out of a total of 430 applications received, about 55 applications are directly on the officers’ tables without any inward number. An application is not supposed to go to the concerned officers without an inward number. When asked about this, the officials allegedly threatened the representatives, saying, “Who are you to ask?” This clearly indicates that the concerned officers have taken bribes and committed malpractice.Furthermore, while a maximum of three beneficiaries’ loans can be sanctioned in one bank, the State Bank of India has sanctioned loans for a total of 16 beneficiaries, which is against the rules. Additionally, while 55 auto-rickshaw loans have been sanctioned so far, permanent permits have not been issued for these vehicles. When asked for permits, the officials are allegedly demanding money as a bribe. The organizations have therefore requested that legal action be taken against the concerned officers who have committed these malpractices under the Day-NULM scheme, and that loans for vehicles be sanctioned according to the rules after properly registering all applications.During the submission of the plea, several activists were present, including Dattu H. Bhasagi, Founder President of Jai Kannadiga Sene, Sachin Farhatabad, State President of Jai Kannadiga Rakshana Vedike, Mallu Alagur, Subhash, Sagar, Naveen Dhummasoor, Anil Talwar, Akshaykumar, Chintu Jamadar, Ankush Billur, and Ravi Sajjan.Report by Imran khan, kalaburagi, karnataka
